Updates[edit]

Good to see this article getting updated. Because of fairly intense coverage in the media due to recent events, certainly passes WP:SIGCOV GRALISTAIR (talk) 13:38, 5 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

opening date of the bridge.[edit]

there is three dates which are given as the opening dates of each bridge and they are 1844, 1856 & 1907. Then header opening date is 1929 which does not agree with any of them. We should use the 1844 opening date since that was when it first opened. I Like The british Rail Class 483 (talk) 09:10, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree that the dates are confusing. See NR's Stuart Calvert in the references and also the reference to Thames.me.uk. --TedColes (talk) 12:14, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The video say that part is from the original bridge so that means that we should use 1844 for its opening date. Since it looks like they have only replaced parts of the bridge and not the full bridge. I Like The british Rail Class 483 (talk) 20:17, 15 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Great Depression[edit]

@TedColes: I note you reverted my edit. The Sunday Times (accessible link) clearly states "The disruption, however, is not the fault of management but probably the consequence of penny pinching in 1929, at the start of the Great Depression." This was the key point the article was making. It should be in the article. Mjroots (talk) 06:18, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies to @Mjroots:, entirely my mistake.--TedColes (talk) 06:41, 19 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
What is in the article and what you have quoted above are two different things, which one is correct? Was to blame or probably the consequence? 94.174.42.235 (talk) 11:24, 27 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Railway Bridge or Viaduct?[edit]

Network Rail and other authorative sources use "Viaduct" in describing this structure. Given that the there are two spans over the river and that northern abutment contains several arches, it qualifies as a viaduct. Should the name of this article therefore be changed to "Nuneham Viaduct"? TedColes (talk) 09:57, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Trackmaps also says Nuneham Viaduct; I've moved the page. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 17:07, 28 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Repair picture[edit]

I have added two pictures of the repair work and plan further textual description of it. Two pictures is probably too many, but I don't know which is more appropriate. TedColes (talk) 09:38, 14 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
