Requested move 28 February 2021[edit]

It was proposed in this section that Number 111 (1919 film) be renamed and moved to Number 111 (1920 film).

No consensus. Due to the strength of the opposing argument there is nothing we see so far to justify changing the qualifier from "1919 film" to "1920 film". The only reachable source cites both dates. Calling this "no consensus" means that editors can strengthen their arguments and try again in a few months to garner consensus for the altered disambiguator. Oppose - I went to verify the single reference in this article, and found it states the film's year as 1919. I've made the reference linkable for verification, and changed the dates in the article to 1919. If there are additional sources as NTD implies, they should be added to the article prior to this move being decided. -- Netoholic @ 08:22, 2 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Citing IMDb lists several problems with using that resource. There's no way to know if the release date on IMDb (which is provided by user-editors) is accurate. Book or news sources are what we'd really need. For example, I haven't found a single reference in Google Books results which gives anything other than a 1919 date. -- Netoholic @ 14:11, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Question/Problem[edit]

@Paine Ellsworth:, I disagree with the closing, because the source accuaretly states that only the book which the film was based on was written in 1919, while the film was first technically presented on 28 January 1920, and commercially released two days after...I don't think we should wait months to remedy this...(KIENGIR (talk) 03:13, 10 March 2021 (UTC))[reply]

To editor KIENGIR: I know, and I can see how you would justify disagreement; however, I did do some research myself. It's not deep research and I only uncovered two other sources, Rate Your Music and Alchetron (mirror site of Wikipedia). As you can see, RYM gives the release date as 8 January 1920, while Alchetron just gives the release year as 1919. Seems to be no consistency in the sources, and in cases like this Wikipedia falls back on the long-term title and consensus. This article has been disambiguated as a 1919 film since it was first created in 2012. That's almost nine years of long-term consensus, and as a closer, I have to take that consensus into consideration. Consensus can change, so you are going to need more reliable, secondary, independent, English-language sources with a 1920 release date to overcome that long-term, community consensus. P.I.
