Nowcasting should redirect to Nowcasting (meteorology), which is the original meaning of the term, as stated in Nowcasting (economics). fgnievinski (talk) 03:15, 12 October 2023 (UTC) — Relisting. BegbertBiggs (talk) 12:21, 19 October 2023 (UTC)— Relisting. Polyamorph (talk) 09:34, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No, all the articles with Nowcasting have already in parenthesis the domain such as Nowcasting (meteorology) and Nowcasting (economics). There is no need to have the disambiguation page to have an extension in parenthesis. There is no reason to favor the article about meteorology at the expense of the other domains. It's a case of WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT, after long-term significance. fgnievinski (talk) 03:11, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Comment: I have amended this request to properly include the page Nowcasting (meteorology), which is necessary because redirecting from Nowcasting to a disambiguated title would not make sense. BegbertBiggs (talk) 12:21, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! fgnievinski (talk) 03:10, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. This is a fairly weird and obscure term. Media sources provide short-term weather forecasts constantly, but when do they ever call them "now"casts? For a term to have long-term significance, it firstly has to have some significant degree of significance. My Google Search results don't show a preponderance of weather-related results. Nowcasting the US Economy, Nowcasting Geodynamics– describes the process of monitoring, depicting, and analyzing ongoing developments in international relations as they occur, Big Data on Vessel Traffic: Nowcasting Trade Flows in Real Time, Nowcasting and Forecasting GDP in Emerging Markets, Nowcasting New Zealand GDP Using Machine Learning Algorithms, and a couple meteorology-related results are what I see on the first page. Ngram doesn't show any long-term usage either; rather this seems a neologism at best, though I'm not sure it's becoming accepted into mainstream language yet. – wbm1058 (talk) 00:07, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
