Is this a coat rack?[edit]

I recently ran across the Wikipedia term "Coat Rack" and I'm wondering if that applies to this article. It gives his date and place of birth, and his profession. The rest is a list of his works and sounds like advertising from his publisher. I came to Wikipedia because Bookbub offered to sell me his Dr. Robert Cole Trilogy and included this review: “ 'Gordon writes with the skill and patience of a good doctor… Powerful' (The New York Times Book Review)". I'm a doctor and I'd like to know if he really is a doctor and if so, which specialty.
