No, House was not the patient, Harpo was and they never found a diagnosis for him. What's the differential for hallucinations, a concussion? No.

It is "I want" in the rerun that airs on "retroTV". Don't know about the original broadcast.

Plot hole

At the beginning of the episode, Moriarty asks the team which one is House, thus implying that they had never met. In the middle of the episode, which is a hallucination, Moriarty tells House why he shot him, because House, while treating his wife, had badgered him into confessing that he cheated. This inconsistency is excusable since its in the middle of a big hallucination (and perhaps left in to hint that what is happening isn't real), but it doesn't seem to make much sense since House is eventually able to determine that everything is a hallucination by picking up on other much more subtle clues. It doesn't make much sense that he missed such a big clue that it all wasn't real. Yebellz (talk) 22:57, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

The entirety of that man's story about his wife is probably untrue as it was in a hallucination. It is feasible, hence why it did not cause him to decipher the whole event was simply his imagination, but the tongue man's other symptoms, the background of the shooter (who is never caught), and anything that took place during the hallucination never actually happened. Presumably, he does not remember the man having asked anything. It takes some time for memories of events to become "permanent"; if something traumatic happens, this process is interrupted, and the victim may not remember the last things that happened.

Alternatively, he could have badgered the man on the phone, without the guy ever seeing him.

Or the guy could be a liar. His claim that he was not trying to kill House sounds a little self-serving; maybe he is just saying whatever it takes to avoid murder charges.
