Is this another name for generic? --Masssiveego 06:40, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

nope, it's an actual brand owned by Loblaw's, it's just called "No Name"
In the area that these are sold the phrase "no name" is synonymous with generic.

Recently they changed the layout of most of their products and made them a little more coloring, like for regual hot chocolate it's brownish, but for hot chocolate w/ marshmallows it's purple. Also they have better illustrations too.
It can also be found at the Superstores (TRCSS, Atlantic SuperStore, etc.)

I think they color-code their products now. i.e. soybean butter is yellow and blue, 24 cheese slices are yellow and green, etc. Should we note that on the page? Ampersand2006 ( & ) 13:17, 20 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

notability[edit]

Formatting[edit]

Wikipedia does not follow corporate capitalization in its article, but usesstandard English capitalization instead. So while Loblaws is free to present its products as "no name", the encyclopedia article about them should use "No Name". See WP:TRADEMARK and WP:BOLDFACE. Also, Wikipedia follows the international convention on punctuation, rather than the American convention, i.e., punctaution falls before or after the close of quoatation marks, depending on the context, rather than the American convenion of always falling before. See WP:LQ. Finally, this article sounds too much like corporate promotional material -- heed should be paid to WP:NPOV. Ground Zero | t 17:14, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:Diclements reverted my edits without discussing them on the talk page, which is a violation of Wikipedia:Editing policy. S/he noted in the comment line, " "No Name" is incorrect. Produce line is branded no name, no capitalization."

WP:TRADEMARK states:

When deciding how to format a trademark, editors should choose among styles already in use (not invent new ones) and choose the style that most closely resembles standard English, regardless of the preference of the trademark owner. This practice helps ensure consistency in language and avoids drawing undue attention to some subjects rather than others. Listed below are more specific recommendations for frequently occurring nonstandard formats.

Loblaws is free to use whatever capitalization and boldfacing it wants, but Wikipedia chooses to follow the rules of standard English. Wikipedia is not a marketing tool for Loblaws, or any other company. Ground Zero | t 22:17, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

IKEA gets their name in all caps and iOS gets the first letter a lowercase on Wikipedia. Daylen (talk) 03:23, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
IKEA is an acronym, not a word, and iOS is an exception to n the general rule. Ground Zero | t 10:16, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
