Fair use rationale for Image:Noa.jpg[edit]

Image:Noa.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 15:39, 4 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

HIV[edit]

When did she get HIV, and how did she get it? 86.140.39.102 (talk) 00:46, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No idea, if anyone does know then please add it to 'Personal life' and make sure it is referenced! Remember its not a crime to be HIV positive and so personal life above the arrest section is the place where that info should go.--EchetusXe (talk) 12:37, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Her having HIV seems to be an accusation, not something that's accepted as fact by both sides - I'm not sure we should state it as fact without a definite source on the matter, since it certainly doesn't seem to have been reported that way. I've removed the category accordingly, since it was far too definite a statement... Shimgray | talk | 15:18, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Why would the police arrest her if she hasn't even got HIV? The accusations is surely the unprotected sex without informing the men she was HIV-positive.--EchetusXe (talk) 16:41, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Well, that's the thing - being HIV-positive isn't the sort of thing the police can trivially check before they put the handcuffs on you! The only source we have for her having HIV is the report that she was arrested and charged with this offence which would involve her having HIV; nowhere does it say she was known to, or that she's been tested and a result has been announced, etc - just that someone else has had the test, and accused her of knowingly causing it. At the moment, her HIV status seems to be as much an allegation as her guilt is. Shimgray | talk | 16:51, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Its irrelevant whether she indeed is HIV+ or not. As long as there is no reliable 3rd party source to support that, we should not categorise her into HIV-infected people as per BLP. Adding her into HIV category based on her arrest is synthesising Zencv Lets discuss 18:34, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

She's HIV positive because of her past... she once was involved in drugs and stuff... -- 77.54.211.183 (talk) 22:28, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"It is not believed to be public knowledge that Benaissa has HIV." You can be damn sure that the police will have made sure she actually had HIV before arresting one of the countries most famous pop stars.--EchetusXe (talk) 13:41, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

21 April she has been released: "her lawyers note that there is no proof that she infected anyone." It would be insanity to continue with the pretence that she has not got HIV now, as she would have stated that by now and wouldn't have been arrested in the first place.--EchetusXe (talk) 23:32, 21 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The singer, who carries the HIV virus

Until we have some reliable sources, let us not add her into the category of HIV +ve people Zencv Lets discuss 21:20, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I guess this source is official enough to confirm that she is HIV+ with at least one confirmed partner as being infected. --m-p{3} (talk) 16:42, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

She got it when she was 17 Benaissa was diagnosed when she was 17 during a routine screening after she became pregnant http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Showbiz-News/German-Pop-Star-Nadja-Benaissa-In-Court-For-Allegedly-Deliberately-Infecting-Partner-With-HIV-Sorry/Article/201008315687848?lpos=Showbiz_News_Top_Stories_Header_3&lid=ARTICLE_15687848_German_Pop_Star_Nadja_Benaissa_In_Court_For_Allegedly_Deliberately_Infecting_Partner_With_HIV_Sorry —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.105.4.40 (talk) 17:19, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

charge of grievous bodily harm[edit]

She is actually not charged with "grievous bodily harm" (Schwere Körperverletzung § 226 StGB ) but with "dangerous bodily harm" (Gefährliche Körperverletzung § 224 StGB). This should be corrected. Due to the semi-protection I cannot do it, and ask someone with the according rights to do it. Thank you in advance! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fukinagashi (talkcontribs) 05:21, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

"Benaissa was arrested on suspicion of having infected a sexual partner with HIV and faces a possible charge of grievous bodily harm"[edit]

Actually that is not the point. It is not a crime in Germany to have HIV or to infect someone, if this person knew and consented in a sexual intercourse. The reason why she is charged with bodily harm is, that she did not tell her partner(s), that she was HIV-positive and that she had unprotected sexual intercourse with them (three know cases). The fact that one is infected - presumably as a result of this contact - will put more weight on the charge, but does not alone make the case. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fukinagashi (talkcontribs) 05:36, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

the other sentence makes that clear (maybe that wasn't there when you made this comment).--EchetusXe (talk) 12:37, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe, but the phrase I quoted as title for this section still reads wrong. She was not arrested for having infected someone. That would not be a criminal offense as I pointed out. I will try to change it now. Please feel free to make my proposition more readable if you find the need.--Fukinagashi (talk) 20:24, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

New MySpace[edit]

Her new website and new MySpace are the same:

http://www.nadjabenaissa.de/ http://www.myspace.com/nadjabenaissa

It's the same. Would be nice if someone could change that. Thanks :) --77.54.211.183 (talk) 22:35, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is Nadja Benaissa Muslim or Not?[edit]

Look at this video [1] on youtube at 1 minute and 6 seconds

You can see Benaissa wearing a cross around her neck
So is she Muslim or not?
--Zec (talk) 18:56, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Look at this video [2] on youtube. Between 3:50 and 4:30, Nadja Benaissa says that she is Muslim. Markus Schulze 15:48, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

In that video she doesn't say at she herself is Muslim, she says her father is Muslim and her mother of Christian origin but not religious.
She says she grew up in a mixed but tolerant family of different religions and nationalities.

Jargon[edit]

Just because technicians rely on jargon doesn't mean that the rest of us need do so. "HIV-positive" is inferior in clarity to "HIV-infected" or "infected with HIV." Nicmart (talk) 16:10, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Education[edit]

I can't understand the German article, but I very much doubt she was taking O-levels, which are (now defunct) General Certificate of Education examinations in the UK, not in Germany. Could someone correct, please? Jimjamjak (talk) 09:30, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. The O-levels do not exist in Germany. It was the Realschulabschluss.-- 129.70.6.167 (talk) 18:09, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Please could someone correct this? I was being reverted two times. O-levels do not exist in Germany. That was ill-translated. She was going for the Realschulabschluss, but dropped out.-- 129.70.6.167 (talk) 18:13, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I saw that has been already done. Thanks.-- 129.70.6.167 (talk) 18:14, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Why did you change it again? The O-levels do not exist in Germany. The German article says "Realschulabschluss".-- 129.70.6.167 (talk) 18:17, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The edit was introduced two and a half years ago.[3] I've changed it back to say Realschulabschluss, as it seems more plausible. Unfortunately the reference is no longer working. -- zzuuzz (talk) 18:29, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about this. I didn't realise "Realschulabschluss" was a real German exam and it looked a bit like nonsense vandalism, so I reverted the edit by 129.70.6.167 that changed it back from O-levels and warned that IP using Huggle. Glad to see it's sorted now. 10metreh (talk) 19:35, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned references in Nadja Benaissa[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Nadja Benaissa's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.
