Prior deletion of article

There was a discussion which ended in delete concerning this article in early 2008. Consensus of the discussion indicated that as production had not begun at that time, there was not enough concrete information to begin an article and that the article should be deleted. The article was later deleted again when it was re-created prior to production. This history is available here:

Production on the film began in late December 2008. As consensus indicated that the article should be restored or recreated with references once production began, I created a new article. I also notified one of the admins who deleted previous versions and was asked by this admin to leave a note for future admins to say that we should not delete this article again. There's also a page on the website that invites us to "Relieve those wonderfull first-time emotions..."[1] I don't think we should be taking cues in correct usage from this site. I could come up with dozens of sources that show the title with Is capitalized--and, admittedly, I could probably come up with as many sources where it is not. In the end, I think Wikipedia should capitalize according to its own guidelines unless there is a compelling reason to make an exception. --ShelfSkewed Talk 14:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
This is the official site for Karan Johar's production company, Dharma Productions which is producing My Name is Khan. Thus this site is also one of the official sites for the film and is indicative of the way in which Johar plans to spell his own title. Ok. My major concern with the move is that a page with all caps already exists which means we cannot just move the article, we would have to copy and paste. This would lose the history of the article. If you can figure out how to move without losing the history, I will not object. -Classicfilms (talk) 06:33, 10 April 2009 (UTC)

  • Support. According to the naming convention guideline, each word in the name of a film should be capitalized except for a) articles, b) the word "to" in infinitives, c) short prepositions/coordinating conjunctions. Suggestion

Since it appears we have a consensus to move, there is simply the issue of procedure. I am wondering if a faster way to go about this would be for someone to add the WP:PROD tag to the redirect page that is now existing for the all caps version of this title (My Name Is Khan):

As Jafeluv mentions above, this article is listed at Wikipedia:Requested moves. After five days from the time it was originally listed, if an admin determines that there is consensus for a move, then the page will be moved exactly as you suggest: The admin will delete the redirect and move this page to My Name Is Khan, and My Name is Khan will redirect to it. It's a common procedure, and there shouldn't be any hitches.--ShelfSkewed Talk 17:14, 11 April 2009 (UTC)

Archiving

There is absolutely no reason to create separate archives for every thread. There's no reason to archive a Talk page at all that's only ever had two threads posted. You're just making it a lot harder for people to find and view past discussions. Propaniac (talk) 19:49, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

"Khan" - Not only a Muslim name

I just want to mention here that "Khan" is not only a Muslim name, it is also shared by many Hindus of India. The Americans don't know. Besides Genghis Khan himself was not a Muslim. Ummat (talk) 13:01, 20 December 2009 (UTC)

Newark Airport incident: Apology?=

This section claims that Khan was "released with an apology", but neither of the citations mentions an apology. Can anyone verify that an apology was made?

Also, if this article is true -- http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/world/us/Heat-on-SRK-was-because-of-scanner-on-Bollywood-shows/articleshow/4916759.cms -- it seems that an apology was not in order. The text has been updated according to the exact languages of the refs. As for the other reference, its argument is based upon unnamed (and thus unverifiable) sources. WP articles cannot speculate or draw conclusions see - Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, particularly WP:NOTCRYSTAL. -Classicfilms (talk) 18:29, 6 January 2010 (UTC)
This article below addresses the above claims as speculation with commentary by the individuals named. This further indicates that the argument falls into the area of gossip and thus WP:NOTCRYSTAL and WP:NOTSCANDAL.
