Obāsan versus Obasan[edit]

The title of this article is incorrect. The Japanese words "obāsan" and "obasan" are different words; the former means "grandmother", while the latter means "aunt". Plus, this doesn't match up with the hiragana in the title. Tony Myers 08:13, 20 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

130 episodes or 50 episodes[edit]

I know nothing about this tv-series, but I noticed that it says it the opening paragraph that it is "spanning 130 episodes", but in the infobox it says that it consists of 50 episodes. Jiiimbooh (talk) 18:59, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

As it stands "50 (130 totally)" doesn't make sense to me. IMDB says 50, so that's what we'll stick by unless we get other (better) references. PizzaMan (♨♨) 17:27, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
All reliable sources state 130 episodes. IMDb itself is not a reliable source and cannot be used to source the number of episode. I've also gone and cleaned up the article to fall in line with other anime articles and removed all challenged unsourced information and even some sketchy information, like the "one of the more well remembered children's series" statement. —Farix (t | c) 18:23, 5 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please provide such a more reliable source. PizzaMan (♨♨) 10:33, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Both Studio Pierrot, the creators of the anime series, and the Agency for Cultural Affairs's Media Arts Database, which is maintain by the Japanese government, state that there are 130 episodes. IMDb is full of errors and is based on user-submitted content. (WP:RS/IMDB) Also, official sources always trump other sources. —Farix (t | c) 22:19, 22 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. PizzaMan (♨♨) 08:42, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I guess a half-hour TV show (with commercial breaks) could consist of two or three separate shorter episodes, thus making somewhat sense of the mathematics. 惑乱 Wakuran (talk) 20:41, 17 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
