Meaning of KOB[edit]

In the section "The 27th of October", the term KOB is used without explanation. I believe this may be an abbreviation for "firing platoon leader" as given on page 81 of this document: https://fas.org/irp/world/russia/sovmil-glossary.pdf

I'm no authority on this, though, so leave it to others to confirm.
