Not a lawyer?[edit]

I don't think that Cohen was a lawyer. Though he taught classes related to law, and wrote extensively of jurisprudential topics, I don't think he held a law degree or was ever admitted to a bar. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.68.192.62 (talk) 08:53, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Belarusian name is not relevant[edit]

While I'm proud of Cohen's relation to my country (Belarus) I don't think Belarusian form of Cohen's name (Морыс Рафаэль Коэн) should be provided here. It's highly unlikely he ever wrote his name in this way. I'm actually sure he never did. 1. Modern Belarusian orthography definitely didn't exist in 1880. 2. Cohen was a Jew, not a Belarusian. He could write his name in Hebrew or Yiddish, not in some other language. 3. In his autobiography named 'A Dreamer's Journey', Chapter 1, Cohen wrote the Yiddish diminitive of his Hebrew name was Meisheleh. So his original name probably was Meshullam or Moshe. Морыс is just Belarusian transcription for Morris. It is definitely not an original name of him.
