Still to do[edit]

I think I've forgotten to mention her managerial role for the Royal Infirmary and it's possible there's some duplication of info re: her role on the Advisory Committee on Diet (same as Advisory Committee on Nutrition?) Also more details about the place of her birth and her notable siblings would be welcome, as well as details about her activity as a suffragette. ACrockford (talk) 18:52, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Mortality figures[edit]

"...more than 1000 confinements with a mortality rate of just over 1 per 1000..."

This is either misleading or wrong. If one person died, the mortality rate is less than one per 1000. If two people died it is substantially over 1 per 1000, unless her number of confinements is better described as "... approaching 2000... " or at least "...over 1500...", and probably "... over 1800..." The following table should make this clear.

Confinements 1 death 2 deaths
1,000 1.00 2.00
1,100 0.91 1.82
1,200 0.83 1.67
1,300 0.77 1.54
1,400 0.71 1.43
1,500 0.67 1.33
1,600 0.63 1.25
1,700 0.59 1.18
1,800 0.56 1.11
1,900 0.53 1.05
2,000 0.50 1.00
