On 29 October 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved to Mukri tribe. The result of the discussion was no consensus.

Tribes name[edit]

The word “Mokri” is the transliterated version of the tribes name in Persian while “Mukri” is the transliterated version of the tribes name in Kurdish. Thus, since this tribe is typically considered as a Kurdish and Kurdish-speaking tribe, it would be more authentic to change the wikis name to “Mukri tribe.” Also it would match the wiki page of “Mukriyan,” of which the name is derived from this “Mukri” tribe, which was recently changed from “Mokryan” also for authenticity reasons. User:Semsuri suggestion to move the Page ‘Mokryan,’ which corresponds with ‘Mokri,’ to be switched with Mukriyan, which is with the latter, has already been approved. The same should be done here. Dr. Hakan Ozoglu states that ‘Mokri’ is just the alternative spelling for the name ‘Mukri,’ which is it’s native term, in “Kurdish Notables and the Ottoman State“ and “Osmanlı devleti ve Kürt milliyetçiliği.” The work ‘Grammatica e vocabolario della lingua Kurda’ stresses that the Kurdish Sorani language, which the Mukri is native in, uses short-vowels (like ‘u’) instead of long (like ‘o’) like in Persian. In “Nomadenstämme in Persien im 18. und 19. Jahrhundert” the Persian Alternative spelling is always put before the native like they did with Mokri-Mukri in page 80, 119, and 122. Apologies about the issue with moving this article without consensus, I did not recieve an additional reply from previous discussion when I provided sources. I also was not familiar with the request move template I am currently using. The name is "authentic" because it follows the native pheontic rules of the spelling of this name, backed with sources that explain the reason for the difference of two spellings and the language the Mukri tribe is affilated with. The reason is common name. I will copy and paste my previous argument for efficiency:
