Off-topic material[edit]

I tried twice to reduce the sprawling rant overleaf (1, 2), but the main author reverted. I wonder what other editors make of this article. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 05:22, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I support your reduction per WP:NOTESSAY. There are multiple problems with the draft. There are indiscriminate details, some editorializing (e.g., "Who got the glory after the premiere?"), embedded external links, circular linking (see references in "Advertising"), and original research (the brunt of the "Political satire" section). I've notified WT:RUSSIA to see if there are any useful references in the draft that could be salvaged for better use. Erik (talk | contrib) (ping me) 13:49, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. Also wondering about the film being rated "top" importance for the Film Project. It's been so long since I've done one of the assessment drives that I'm not positive what importance it should be at but I'm pretty sure it's not top. Millahnna (talk) 14:11, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My mistake. I realize now that it's the Soviet Union project where it's rated top. SO nevermind that concern. Millahnna (talk) 14:13, 11 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Seems like it's still being added back :( The paragraph looks very original research and off topic to me! Thanks to User:Sealle for alerting me! @Erik:@Michael Bednarek:@Millahnna: WhisperToMe (talk) 06:29, 8 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Translation of quote in Trophy films section[edit]

There's a quote translated horrifically from some russian source in the second paragraph of this section. I'm afraid to touch it for mangling whatever meaning it may have once had, so if anyone with expertise could take a crack at it I'd be grateful. The same for the quote from Grigoriy Yaron. Mehmuffin (talk) 16:39, 27 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The section "Trophy films", like most of the article, is off-topic and unsourced and should be removed. The source for the quote you mention is a YouTube clip, "About the Making of Mr X", which has been blocked at YouTube by the copyright holders. The other source for that section is http://www.liveinternet.ru/users/svetlana-k/post319094478/, a blog. I suggest to apply WP:DYNAMITE and start the article again with my version from 5 May 2017. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 04:56, 28 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Article name[edit]

Shouldn't this article be moved back to Mister Iks? That's the title used by IMDb and the obvious transliteration of its Russian title. -- Michael Bednarek (talk) 02:31, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
