The external links really only consists of youtube videos - it looks messy. Is it possible for people to add more websites about Miranda? 124.186.229.87 10:18, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Lucy

Please don't add unofficial websites. (Number1spygirl 13:45, 24 June 2007 (UTC))

There is a false information! Miranda Kerr have not moved from Australia to NYC. She moved from Sydney (Chic Management Agency) to Paris (Madison Models) and then, after her first advertising campaign out of Australia (A campaign with photographer Erick Seban-Meyer in Paris for Ober Jeans, this campaign is featured in La Créative Revue of Le Book) she moved to New York. It's because of this advertising campaign that she became famous in Europe and you don't even mention it! For sourcing : search for Ober in la creative in LeBook.com and you will find a picture of her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 93.5.185.216 (talk) 16:23, 3 November 2012 (UTC)

Miranda Kerr does not fit the description of "supermodel." She is a commercial "model". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 219.89.91.182 (talk) 05:54, 1 February 2008 (UTC)

Miranda Kerr never really came to 'prominence' in Australia during her domestic career, not evenafter she relocated to New York. I believe she began attracting attention during mid-2007 when Orlander Bloom was rumored to be dating her. She's probably not even that a big deal in the European fashion world like Gemma Ward for e.g. as she hasn't done any runway for a major boutique fashion label.

Picture

There seems to be problems with obtaining an approved picture of miranda - is it simply a matter of getting permission from a website owner? 124.186.229.87 10:18, 5 May 2007 (UTC)Lucy

I have added a temporary measure, which is a low-res fair-use image, a still from the Victoria's Secret commercial. To have a better-quality image, we need the permission of the photographer. If someone has a personal snap from somewhere, we could use that. Or, if we can get emailed permission from an actual photographer (or Miranda's agent), that would work too. From the information that's in the article, it looks like one of the editors may have contact with her boyfriend? He might be able to help. Anyway, I've got quite a bit of experience now with image permissions, so if I can help, please let me know. --Elonka 01:50, 19 May 2007 (UTC)

Could there be more photos of Miranda for this article? There is a new covershot of her on Rolling Stone that should be used from the sun http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showbiz/bizarre/2458818/Miranda-Kerr-strips-naked-for-Rolling-Stone-magazine.html --Cooly123 (talk) 14:22, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

Birthdate

Miranda Kerr's bio on her Portmans blog has her birth date as 20th of April 1985, a representative of Miranda also contacted mirandakerronline.com to correct the admin on her birth date (which was the same incorrect date as on this page currently).

I don't know much about editing Wikipedia and my original correction of her birth date was changed back for not having proof or something (not that there's any proof at all of this 1983 date), so I was hoping someone else could edit it correctly, since having her age two years and two months off reality is pretty serious for someone who is now a pretty big name model I'd think.

For the bio: http://portmanscomau.ozstaging.com/wordpress/?page_id=2 Soff 08:25, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

I changed her date of birth to April 20, 1985 according to her bio on her official blog at Portmans. Number1spygirl 13:46, 2 October 2007 (UTC)

There is no way she could've been born in 1985. It's not mathematically possible according to a couple of facts. It's been a documented that she was 13 in 1997 (when she won the Dolly modeling contest), at the very least she would've been born in 1984 (though most articles list her as a 1983 birth, which makes sense). The Portmans blog is wrong, unless she was really 11 or 12 when she won the Dolly contest.Whitjones 17:12, 9 November 2007 (UTC)

Kerr's Portman blog did not mention her age during the time of the competition so I took out 13. Number1spygirl 10:56, 10 November 2007 (UTC)

[1] The DailyTelegraph article says she turned 14 in 1997, which implies a 1983 birthdate. Changing birthyear to 1983 based on this. Is the Portman's blog *her* official blog? It reads like a bio written by someone else. Gimmetrow 05:30, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

In light of this edit, I will assume that her official site (mirandakerr.net) says 1985. I can't verify it since the site doesn't work for me, but if this is the source it should be cited. It seems a bit odd, though, since it would mean she won the Dolly/Impulse contest at age 12 contrary to one published news source. Gimmetrow 18:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)

TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN : I can guarantee you her birthdate is 1983. Not only does winning the dolly comp at 13 make her 24, Miranda also sent me an invite to her 21st birthday, which happened to be in 2004. Go away and stop acting like you are the editing police and use some common sense. From someone who knows —Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.69.251.144 (talk) 06:17, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

A Victoria Secret's video revealed she was born in 1983. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.218.20.181 (talk) 10:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

As per her official website, http://www.mirandakerr.net/, she was born on April 20, 1985/ I'm editing the page so it goes with the official information. BlackPearl14Pirate Lord-ess 00:54, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

Reliable sources give another date. Since it seems at least plausible that the other date is right, we've listed both. Gimmetrow 00:59, 22 April 2008 (UTC)
So I'm to take it that her official website is not the most reliable source? BlackPearl14Pirate Lord-ess 16:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)
In this case, it conflicts with other reliable sources about the Dolly competition. Practically, if only one date is listed, well-meaning readers will change it to the other date. Better, in my opinion, to point out the discrepancy; this both informs readers and helps reduce flip-flop edits. Gimmetrow 19:06, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Miranda says in the interview that she is 25. The interview is only few days old. http://au.todaytonight.yahoo.com/video# — Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.50.39.125 (talk) <1. May 2008>

Verified. She says so in her own voice, so I consider this resolved. Her "official" site is incorrect. Gimmetrow 20:01, 1 May 2008 (UTC)

I had included the date that Kerr gave birth to her son, but this edit was reverted, stating that the article shouldn't be that specific. I disagree. The date that someone child was born seems like pretty standard/common info to include, especially given that the specific date for events like participating in a fundraiser are included. WHEN REVERTING VANDALISM! *PLEASE READ*

When reverting vandalism, please look at ALL the most recent edits and make sure blocks of information previously added have not been removed by vandals in multiple edits. Often users "undo" the most recent vandalism and fail to undo 5 or 6 other vandal edits, leaving the article unfinished and still vandaled. If you are unsure how to remove multiple vandal edits, please notify me and I will revert them. - --Rosario (talk) 15:10, 11 December 2007 (UTC)

Miranda's origin

On the article it states "Miranda's family backgroud is European with her mother being 1/4 Filipino." There is no source for this, so where is this information from? She doesn't look Filipino at all.

Also, on the article Serbian Australian, she is listed as a notable Serbian Australian - I've never heard of this anywhere besides Wikipedia. Is this information correct?

If sources can't be found for these claims, then shouldn't they be removed? Or am I missing something here? 123.211.141.151 (talk) 07:02, 10 July 2009 (UTC)

-I agree. Also, Miranda herself has said through an exclusive interview with justjared (simply look for it online) that she is not Filipino (and Serbian, Turkish etc).
She said she's of English, French and Scottish background and even personally said she doesn't know where all the rumors of her being Filipino comes from. I've corrected it and yet time and time again, I get 'corrected' with WRONG information. It's getting old.
Justjared is a blacklisted site so we can't put the link into the article as a reference (though someone put it in there as hidden text). Has anyone tried to get that page whitelisted? I don't know anything about justjared (other than it's blacklisted) but I would think that an interview they conducted would qualify as legitimate source. SQGibbon (talk) 19:08, 18 February 2010 (UTC)
I'm not so sure a site posting an interview automatically qualifies as legit for Wikipedia purposes. If I conducted an interview with someone and stuck it on a cheap blog, I doubt it would meet WP:RS because of the lack of editorial oversight to ensure the info is legit and hasn't been tampered with. The justjared page might have that issue if you try to whitelist it.  Mbinebri  talk ← 00:31, 19 February 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, you're probably right. I had already submitted it anyway so we'll see how that goes. I really know nothing about the site but maybe other people do. If that page doesn't get whitelisted is there any other choice but to just delete that passage in all its variations? SQGibbon (talk) 01:03, 19 February 2010 (UTC)

Height

I am sick and tired of her height being listed at 175cm. I met her on number of occasions as did people who worked with her and she is barely 170 cm-5'7". Wikipedia should be a correct source of information. There are many website that confirm her height being less then listed. In fact Miranda herself confirmed in Australian interview few years back the she felt short compare to other models as she is just under 170cm. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Truthtobetold (talkcontribs) 22:44, 16 January 2010 (UTC)

If you have a reference that verifies her height being less than sites claim (as in this interview you mention), feel free to add it if you can find it.  Mbinebri  talk ←

Edit war

See User_talk:J_Greb#Edit_war:_Miranda_Kerr. Thoughts? I thought my remarks were common sense, but at least one editor happens to disagree with me. Dasani 06:52, 25 January 2012 (UTC)

The differences are more stylistic than anything, IMO, so I don't really object to one version or another. I have to say though, I'm kind of surprised the section titles and the "Other work" section bother you, Dasani, as you made quite a few edits around the 15th in which you kept the titles and the separate section for her non-modeling work. I would also encourage you guys to use edit summaries when reverting. It seems like poor etiquette to be in an argument with neither side offering an explanation before it turns into an edit war.  Mbinebri  talk ← 15:44, 25 January 2012 (UTC)
I don't understand why my previous edits matter. I was in the process of cleaning up the article and copyediting. I did provide an edit summary the first time and commented on the editor's talk page. She doesn't seem to care... Dasani 04:45, 26 January 2012 (UTC)

Miranda Kerr Coconut Oil Misquote

The ABC News reference #48, misquoted her as using 4 TABLESPOONS of coconut oil instead of 4 TEASPOONS. If you check reference # 49 (her own blog) she says 4 teaspoons. This is an important change to make as she's a health advocate and there has been unnecessary negative judgement on her for this misquote.

Dewsifina (talk) 17:24, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Not done: The ABC News article was quoting something in the Australian Cosmopolitan. You really need one of them making a correction or some reliable source saying she was misquoted. Sorry, Celestra (talk) 04:36, 14 March 2012 (UTC)

I'd just like to comment on something here: no change should be made. Kerr usually takes four tablespoons. There is a source from a year ago which states tablespoons. Many people speculate she changed the amount after the government began to hound her for the possible dangers of taking too high an amount. Her official blog indeed used to read table, but she changed it to tea. Additionally, I cook a lot and four teaspoons for a day is a very tiny amount that probably wouldn't be able to give her the effects she has now. Kerr may have stopped now, but her original statement was tablespoons. Dasani 04:17, 19 March 2012 (UTC)

Tertiary Study

Miranda Kerr did not attend university. She enrolled in some courses at the "Academy of Natural Living": a Mickey-Mouse college. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brupey (talkcontribs) 23:01, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

I've heard that, but didn't know the name of the school. Modified the article a bit. Dasani 18:44, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
Before [2], the text didn't mention "college" or "university". The place was in the attached ref. Gimmetoo (talk) 19:11, 10 April 2012 (UTC)
But isn't ANL considered to be college-level? It's as silly as saying someone attended school without specifying if it were a high school, college, or who knows. Usually, American and Japanese school names are a giveaway, but this ANL seems to be an exception. Dasani 18:39, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

NYC

Not too long ago, there was a story about her selling her apartment in New York City. I guess she resides in both now. The article makes it seem like Kerr lives exclusively in NYC. See this. Spelling Style (talk) 01:10, 23 August 2012 (UTC)

She has "a small frame since she was born five weeks premature." 130.130.37.85 (talk) 05:17, 4 November 2012 (UTC) http://au.news.yahoo.com/sunday-night/transcripts/article/-/9928861/miranda-kerr-blooms-transcript/

Not done Sorry, but the statement was made by Rahni Sadler in the interview and not acknowledged by Kerr. Preterm birth is not generally acknowledged to result in "a small frame".
