Contribution that does not really fit "When antibodies do not follow the protein background, the epitope's characterisation by a subsequence of the target protein is not possible. A synthetic oligopeptide mimicking the binding, or a series of these, then substitutes the original protein to work towards a molecular model of the binding." Anybody feeling stimulated to improve?
