Unpublished material[edit]

The article cites "Tsepo Moerane Private Collection, Komani". Where is this housed, and how may scholars in good standing and with a serious interest consult it? -- Hoary (talk) 13:42, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I sees your point. I have copies of these because I have been to this private collection, which is in the house of the composer's grandson, and I know of one other person who has been there, separately, and so any other serious scholar of Moerane can do the same. I can see if there's a published source that has gives the same information, but it's quite a los to the article not to have material "from the horse's mouth" (i.e. family documents - the Thuso Moerane Biography and the M.T. Moerane Address). But I do see the issue you're raising. Cape doctor (talk) 16:57, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I'm happy to see that it clicked. (For many new editors, it doesn't; and I have to point them to this or that soporific policy page, etc.) But there's a lot more cited in the article that has similar problems: the photograph cited in what's currently the first reference, Universiteit van Suid-Africa/University of South Africa (1962). "This is to Certify that Michael Mosoeu Moerane passed the following courses for the B.Mus. degree at this University". [Student Record]. University of South Africa, Pretoria., and so on. -- Hoary (talk) 23:34, 15 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia:Expert editors has some good advice. It's possible that you need to change your approach somewhat, per WP-philosophy. Gråbergs Gråa Sång (talk) 07:03, 16 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
