Birthplace[edit]

IMDB has Broxburn but we have Badger's Brook. A recent edit changing to Broxburn was reverted as unsourced. Where's the source for Badger's Brook ? (Broxburn could mean Brock's Burn = Badger's Brook, but the latter doesn't sound like a Scottish name to me). -- Beardo 03:55, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A highly talented Director[edit]

He is an extremely good director - especially Rob Roy, Scandal, This Boy's Life - with a young Leanordo di Caprio and Robert de Nero - and the mini-series, World Without End, which I am currenly watching on Canal +. I think he got his first big break directing Scandal, with excellent performances from John Hurt and Joanne Whalley, which is one of my favourite movies. He comes across as very direct and not at all artsy in the interview he made for the Scandal special features section of the DVD but I think he is an extremely creative individual. I'll definitely watch anything he directs although I think I will give Basic Instinct 2 a miss as it strikes me he did this one for the dosh. This is a quote I found from him about this film on IMB:

"I re-read the script and knew I had to redo it. I later learned the script had been around Hollywood for years, and the movie was a deal-film, which means that nobody really gives a monkey how it turns out, but a lot of people make a lot of money as soon as it's made. It was a disaster. I wanted to get out, but I'd have been sued to death. Sharon Stone lives in a zone inside her own head. She's had to do everything to get up the greasy pole, and having reached a certain age then wonders what to do. It's all about insecurity and fear. And to show she was the star she'd turn up late, not know her lines, she'd make appointments to have her nails done on a day of filming. There was no point in getting into a fight with her, though." New "Creative Differences" paragraph (19-Oct-2017)[edit]

This recently-added paragraph is identical to one added to the B. Monkey and Sophie Okonedo articles. Given the lack of other substantial sections in this article, it's rather ill-fitting and could use some additional context or a rewrite. PinballEric (talk) 20:18, 19 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
