Coverage of theatre company and building[edit]

Kerry Raymond and others - I have just reverted additions made to the lead by an IP editor, not because it was incorrect but because the rest of the article is all about the building, with categories relevant to this, and I think a decision has to be made as to how to deal with the two entities (building and its former tenants). @Laterthanyouthink: Yes, this is a common problem when a building and its occupants have the same name, but then they move on. See La Boite Theatre Building and La Boite Theatre Company as an example of how to deal with it. In that case, the building's original use was as the theatre and the theatre was named La Boite from the outset, before the theatre company (Brisbane Rep Theatre) changed its name to La Boite Theatre. Here it is a little bit different as building started life as a warehouse and its use as a theatre is more recent and the article's current name is linked directly to the theatre company. The simplest thing in the first instance is probably to create an article Metro Arts Brisbane which is the name of the company now operating in West End and add in the cross-linkages between them (as is done in the La Boite articles). A second consideration is then to rename this article to reflect either its current use (which I don't know) or an historic name (e.g. Coronation House which is already a redirect). However, as the place has been known as Metro Arts Theatre for about 30 years, it is probably well-known to Brisbane residents by that name, so I don't think we should rush to change that name. Hatnotes on both articles should hopefully get the reader to the article they want (theatre or company). Kerry (talk) 01:56, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Kerry Raymond. Not being a Brisbanite, I know nothing about it, but can come back to have another look at it when I have time. I agree about creating a second article for the theatre company, even if it's only a stub for now. Laterthanyouthink (talk) 06:25, 12 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
