I have a bit of a problem with that definition. Metapolitics isn't ideological analysis. It is rather dealing with issues that play a role behind (meta) political change or stability. It is the why of politics. One could rephrase and ask. Why are people accepting poltical arrangements or why do they act to change them. However the article is kind of a start.

I'm not keen on this definition either. Look at the wikipedia page for the meta- prefix. Metasomething is not talk about something (the only example for which this stands is metalanguage). It's something about something. Metadata is data about data. A metagame is a game about or within a game. Therefore, metapolitics is simply the politics of politics. It difficult to draw a line between politics and metapolitics because arguably most media coverage of politics is actually of metapolitics. And yes you could say it is just political science. Sounds like Political science[edit]

Metapolitics sounds like another word for describing Political science MrMurph101 (talk) 20:40, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Ranciere[edit]

Jacques Ranciere also uses a concept of "metapolitics" with reference to Karl Marx' text on the "Jewish Question". I think, this should probably also be included here.

Gramsci[edit]

I am surprised Antonio Gramsci isn't mentioned. --154.69.27.19 (talk) 20:53, 10 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
