Undecipherable to the uninitiated[edit]

I have absolutely no idea where to begin to figure out what the parenthetical in the following sentence means:

"...Mereng evolved from the fusion of slave musics such as the chica and calenda with ballroom forms related to the French contredance (1988: 5-9)." There are several other similar notations in the article.

Trujillo was not from the cibao region[edit]

The dictator was born in San Cristobal and lived most of his young life there. San cristobal is in the south not cibao. Javierorr (talk) 03:44, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
