Fair use rationale for Image:Mercury34.jpg[edit]

Image:Mercury34.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:18, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Team affiliations[edit]

Mercury is not part of the Young X-Men. X-Infernus describes the team in Limbo as the 'Uncanny X-Men,' which includes Mercury. In addition, Nightcrawler refers to both Rocklside and Mercury as X-Men. Therefore, I am adding the team affiliation to her page.Luminum (talk) 01:35, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The New and Young Teams(the Young thing in the last edit was a mistake on my part thinking I was editing Rockslide instead) are considered X-Men, and when the titles say "The Uncanny X-Men" like it does on the title page of X-Infernus it means the X-Men as a whole, as it always has in the past. There has never been any kind of differentiation between the X-Men throughout the various X-books when classifying them as X-Men on their specific pages. Like, we don't have Cyclops's page say "Astonishing X-Men" as well as "Uncanny X-Men" and Nightcrawler's page only say "Uncanny X-Men", both just say "X-Men", so why start now? The only reason we put New and Young on specific pages is because those teams, while still being X-Men, are considered the junior or "in-training" squads by the actual characters in the books themselves. There is no need to start up a whole other designation, putting more stuff to clog up the pages than there already are, when what they already have will suffice for what they are. 68.49.68.231 (talk) 02:38, 15 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Scary Mommy source[edit]

...that is not a source. It is a list, most of which is random and alphabetical. The entire content about Mercury is "109. Mercury (Cessily Kincaid)". Even compared to CBR it is clickbait nothingness. BoomboxTestarossa (talk) 21:00, 6 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree. This article is a list of characters that journalist Deidre Kaye sees as role models and "truly heroic." It mostly includes female superheroes, not random characters, and many Marvel characters are not included. To say, "Deirdre Kaye of Scary Mommy included Mercury in their "Looking For A Role Model? These 195+ Marvel Female Characters Are Truly Heroic" list would not change anything. She is still describing the character as a "role model" and "truly heroic."
