Michael "High as the Sky" Monroe. I think he was the producer and considered 'one of the guys'. -yukONS

This was re-released on January 10, 2006 as part of the Mega Man X Collection for the GameCube and PlayStation 2. The Mega Man X Collection includes the first six Mega Man X games and Mega Man Battle & Chase. The Mega Man X Collection was itself a followup to the Mega Man Anniversary Collection of 2004, which repackaged the first eight Mega Man games from the Mega Man Classic series, and also included two rare arcade fighting games that had only been released in Japan.

Duff McWhalen/Bubble Crab stage music[edit]

Storyline[edit]

The Storyline revision bit speculates he said it, however, he indeed DID say it. "Another difficulty arose when it came to continuing the X series after the fifth installment, which Inafune had planned to be the end of the saga.

"I was originally planning on ending the series at around X4 or 5," Inafune reveals. "I really expected that to be the ending. And so I was all happy... 'OK, done with X5. That series is now closed off, now let's start Zero. I'm really excited to start Zero series.' Here's Zero, you know, he's kind of dead, and you power him up and he comes back to life, right? In my mind, in X5, Zero died. And so I'd always planned to make Zero come back to life in the Zero series, but then X6 comes out sooner from another division and Zero comes back to life in that, and I'm like, 'What's this!? Now my story for Zero doesn't make sense! Zero's been brought back to life two times!" "

Er, I'd love to, but that link you have there doesn't go to any such interview. I searched the site and found three Inafune interviews, but none of them mention the X series at all.
I'm deleting that section until we get some evidence that even a word of it is true. The second paragraph is just embarrassing; it essentially says "You want proof? Here's proof: in my personal analysis, the story of X5 is the thematic conclusion of the series." More to the point, an unsubstantiated rumor like this is potentially damaging to Inafune and other people at Capcom.--Martin IIIa (talk) 17:37, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the changes that are OBVIOUS in MM Zero that include the other games in its story. The Elf Wars, HAD Zero been gone like Inafune left him, he would not have been a hero from the Wars because he wouldnt have been around in them. Dialogue[edit]

The trivia section claims the English version of this game has no Dialogue. However,i have played this game and snippits of Dialogue remain from the original.

Most notably in X & Zero's shouting and Dynamo's speech is mostly intact (not including the "Jya Na!" line)

l think they meant the dialogue during the "cut scenes" like how the japanese dialogue is in the english version of the original x6 game and not the voice samples at occurs while playing the game.--76.202.62.128 (talk) 08:34, 27 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it Volt or Bolt Kraken?[edit]

I heard that Bolt Kraken is his Japanese name, while Volt Kraken is his name in the English manual, but some sources say that it's incorrect and his name is Volt Kraken in the Japanese version as well. So, which is it? Can anyone confirm if the name in the Japanese version is Volt or Bolt?—Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.101.145.224 (talk • contribs)

Both would technically be correct; "v" sounds are typically conveyed in Japanese with "b" sounds. You could get "Bolt" or "Volt" from Boruto, but I'd say use Volt for both English and Japanese here since the English name is both official and a correct Romanization in any case.—ウルタプ 22:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

"True" ending[edit]

The idea of the last paragraph -- that the endings "diverge" at the very end with Zero reflecting on his life and X continuing on -- never made sense to me. Sure, the endings are different, but I think they're clearly the same event -- just different perspectives. Both could've happened concurrently.

I rewrote the last paragraph, but I didn't edit the page. For approval or whatnot:

If Zero did not go Maverick, Sigma decides to make the Hunters' victory for naught by taking them down with him. X tries to save Zero but is ambushed by Sigma and both Hunters are critically damaged. Zero manages to finish Sigma off, then dies and leaves X behind. The endings shown diverge again, though they simply show two different perspectives. If Zero defeated Sigma, it's shown that he reflects on his origin and life before dying. If X defeated Sigma, it's shown that he inherits Zero's beam saber and continues to fight as a Maverick Hunter. Although both are correct, the latter is considered by fans to be the "true" ending and is the one used to form the basis for Mega Man X6.
