This "short line" isn't an adaequat article about "meend". - Not at all !! - Some aspects the editor should fill, recently the idiom "Gamaka". And please give an input about "meend" on it's own with a wider range of "(different) glidings from one note to another". Even some techniques about "Meend" should be mentioned here, not only referring the most known instrument worldwide, the Sitar - as an example Ravi Shankar or Nikhil Banerjee (both sitar legends) developed different styles. (Rec.:) In Vocals (different styles: Thumri, Khyal, Dhrupad) you can find the technique of "meend".) - As you can see, "meend" is a central figure for Indian Classical Music, both North Indian Classics and South Indian Classics.
