World Cat[edit]

Tagishsimon my technical friend... Can you tell me why her worldcat ID is blank when it should reflect [1] in authority control? SusunW (talk) 01:08, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, but should it? I'm unconvinced that there is such a thing as a WorldCat ID - at least, for authors. See, for instance, this list of Authority Control IDs used in wikidata, and the documentation for Template:Authority_control. Wikidata has only the VIAF record for Mary Boggs right now, which is why that's the only number being emitted by the template ... do you know of any article where there is a WorldCat ID? (Good evening, btw, SusunW ;) --Tagishsimon (talk) 01:27, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Douglas Adams is wikidata's show-case record; but the en article shows no distinct WorldCat ID. What we miss for Bogg is LCCN, ISNI, GND et al. --Tagishsimon (talk) 01:31, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Tagishsimon You ask me? The non-technical one? I have no idea whether there are numbers. If there were, I'm thinking it would be in Townley, as she painted under Boggs and wrote under Townley. I'll look at it more tomorrow and see if I can find some other number. Good evening to you too :) I'm bushed for this day. SusunW (talk) 02:22, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I had a look for an Library of Congress number under various aliases ... nothing. We'll see where we get this evening. --Tagishsimon (talk) 17:48, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Tagishsimon I was just looking at this too. Can't find her in any of the databases, which seems odd to me, with all the textbooks she published. At least the link is here, if anyone is interested in her work. *sigh* SusunW (talk) 18:00, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Another Look[edit]

Here is a review of Mary's textbooks, fwiw. Very positive. --Tagishsimon (talk) 18:48, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tagishsimon You totally rock! If you don't add the info, I will a bit later. Am muddling through my activist for the day and struggling with sources, as always. SusunW (talk) 18:54, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

NPP review -- notability[edit]

Easily passes WP:CCOS, though probably meets WP:BASIC only weakly. In particular (without dealing with cited refs individually), she doesn't clearly meet WP:ARTIST (though her win in another national mural competition would add some level of weight). Nor does she clearly meet WP:AUTHOR, though indications are that Another Look is almost certain to pass WP:NBOOK (criteria 1 but not 4), with what looks like additional reviews appearing to be contained in Arts and Activities, Volume 90, Curriculum Review, Volume 22, and School Arts, Volume 83 (though the last would need to be used with care since Boggs wrote something for them in the same issue). Won't tag for notability since it's cleaner to keep Another Look within her bio than vice versa. ~Hydronium~Hydroxide~(Talk)~ 11:35, 23 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
