Where is Newbury airfield?[edit]

The article says:

He was briefly involved in the rave scene in the early 90's with the creation of Gush at Newbury airfield.

The aforementioned venue, "Gush" was located on the former Greenham Common USAF base near Newbury Berkshire, which is now New Greenham Park. The Prodigy played the one and only show ever held at the venue.

Death[edit]

Just a note saying I just had a call saying Martin died yesterday (4 June 2011). Doesn't look like anything's been published yet, but it's been confirmed by his son via Martin's Facebook profile. Will update this page when we have a WP:RS to verify. matt (talk) 15:56, 5 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Many fans of MR's work (including me) were shocked and upset to learn of his untimely death. The article would be improved if some info was given about the circumstances - none of the newspaper obits I've seen have given any info. We don't need anything salacious or intrusive, just a simple statement of the facts with a suitable reference. Can anybody help? --Ef80 (talk) 00:28, 30 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

early career/tape-recorder[edit]

there's mention of his father's "four-track tape recorder"; the description is probably technically accurate, referring to a popular domestic track standard for 1/4" tape-machines in which a total of four recordings can be made across the width of the tape, & typically as two stereo pairs, one in each direction along the length of the tape. unfortunately, the hyperlink leads the reader to the mage on multitrack machines which, at the time of the young rushent's experiments, were extremely rare & very much the preserve of professional studios, not the domestic hobbyist. by the time of such things being available to the well-heeled amateur, rushent was himself using the real thing (no pun intended) at advision & elsewhere.
