Requested citation for the claim that a marmite is "famed for its pot-belly shape". Elizabeth David, in French Provincial Cooking, says a marmite is "a tall stock-pot or a stew-pot, usually, but not invariably, straight-sided..." The French wiki says nothing about shape (only handles), but a Dutch oven was chosen to represent a marmite. Of course, it doesn't cite any sources either.
