GENRE[edit]

The article contradicts itself, with regard to the genre of this film. Its described as a comedy, and as a satirical drama. Satirical drama is more accurate. I would say it could be called a horror movie. Perhaps not of the slasher kind of horror movie of the 1980s, but a psychological horror movie like those of the 1960s and 1970s. This movie starts out as a normal satire, but quickly moves to weird, and fully transitions from weird to disturbing. Yes, I think this should be called a horror movie. Im comfortable with such an assessment of this movie. ...I wonder if Carrie Fisher read the whole script before she agreed to her one and only scene in the movie. Marc S. I think you are deeply confused or completely misread the article, as there is no mention of comedy as the film's genre only satirical drama is mentioned. Second all the notable sources, critics, director and writer of the film described it as satirical drama, not a horror movie. So we can't add anything as the genre of the film without proper sources, as the article has proper sources for the genre claimed in it. I hope this answer your question regarding genre of this film. Allow me to quote from the section labeled production: "...Talking about the script, Cronenberg revealed that “It’s kind of a satire on Hollywood. It’s very typical of Bruce Wagner’s writing. And it’s sort of a condensed essence of Bruce. And while it’s satirical, it’s also very powerful, emotionally, and insightful and funny.[38] You could say it’s a Hollywood film because the characters are agents, actors and managers, but it is not a satire like The Player."[39] Producer Martin Katz described it as an "absurdist comedy about the entertainment business." ...okay? you still want to contradict me on this issue???? Bieberesque[edit]

Since Wagner wrote this in the early 90's, a Justin Bieber comparison seems anachronistic. Also, the character isnt a singer, he's part of a movie franchise, more similar to Macauley Culkin/ Home Alone I know it's a quote from Cusack, but it still doesnt make sense...

Secondary cast[edit]

I just reworked the list of the secondary cast because it arbitrarily included and ordered names against the on screen credits order. But I think the entire section could easily be eliminated, as these are all very minor characters, only appearing in one or two scenes; in one case (Micah), it's a kid who shows up for a scene of a few seconds and doesn't even speak a line.
