article name[edit]

I'm critical about the articles name: "Elbe-Börde Heath". (If it is ever used in English at all) I would stay with German name Elbe-Börde-Heide region and wouldn't translate Heide into Heath - just because it is not so much a special Heath region (like the Lunenburg Heath) as it is a sum-up list of three components, in fact Mittel-Elbe, Magdeburger Börde and Colbitzer Heide. Recently in German the term Region Magdeburg is most commonly used. Therefore altogether it might make sense to rename the article.--Zarbi1 (talk) 13:24, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agree, "-Börde Heath" looks and sounds mixed-up. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 13:35, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Region Magdeburg seems reasonable, and is in fact also the deWiki title. Agathoclea (talk) 13:52, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I certainly agree that the Magdeburg name is the primary one - the de.wiki article suggests Elbe-Börde-Heide is the name of the Magdeburg Tourist Office. I recommend, though, that the English Wiki name is Magdeburg Region because a) this is the name used in the English sound track on the German video on their official website and b) it follows the normal English word order e.g. we say "Verden Station" not "Station Verden" or "Welser Viaduct" not "Viaduct Welser". Can we live with that? --Bermicourt (talk) 16:45, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can live with that + a redirect of the other way round, better to find, --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:59, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good point, Gerda! --Bermicourt (talk) 06:13, 15 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
