Year 1670 Nova now believed to be a Red Transient[edit]

In case this news is of use in the article: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/2015/03/150323-nova-red-transient-vulpeculae-astronomy-stars referring to a Nature article. The article uses the term Red Rransient not Luminous Red Nova, but the terms seem to refer to the same type of object. Jcardazzi (talk) 12:08, 24 March 2015 (UTC)jcardazzi[reply]

Predicted LRN in 2022[edit]

A team of astronomers is making a bold forecast: A binary star found in the summer constellation Cygnus the swan will burst into a red nova sometime in 2022. Someone may want to add this to the article. The star is the binary KIC 9832227 in Cygnus and the prediction is based on measurements of the rate of decrease in the system's orbital period — Preceding unsigned comment added by 110.175.156.215 (talk) 06:58, 7 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
