Sources for improving the article[edit]

This article "John Reid's Redheaded "Giants" of Central Nevada: Fact or Fiction?"[[1]] is a gold mine about the bones in the cave and the 'giant' label. I'm keen on reliable sources and the Brooks qualify as reliable sources, see [2] and [3]. On the other hand, books like Return of the Stargods are not (and I'm not convinced about Daniel Ricky's book on Nevada[4], can't find out who he is).

Coordinate error[edit]

Since the NRHP has listed the location as restricted to prevent damage to the archaeological remains, the editors of the article have probably decided that giving the exact coordinates is unwise. The location is, however, labeled (as "Lovelock Indian Caves") on the relevant USGS topographic map, so I'm not sure what good suppressing the exact coordinates does. I've tweaked the coordinates to (approximate) degrees and minutes but have avoided giving the precise location. Deor (talk) 15:04, 19 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Red haired giants[edit]

I was shocked to read this. Around 20 years ago I worked with my friend Larry, a Native American in a music store here on the West Coast. He told me when his grandfather was a child in California he accompanied his father, who was escorted to a cave in Nevada by the US Calvary. The Calvary had come upon a very sick red haired giant of a "man" at the mouth of a cave who spoke an unknown language and they were hoping that my friend's ancestor could translate what the huge man was saying, but he had never heard the language before. The red haired person passed away, so that's all that was known. I have no verification of this story, but could probably find Larry to tell the story himself.
