In preparing what I thought was the first attempt at a page on Lorenzo Milam, I found that this article had been deleted twice for WP:COPY violations. Without realizing that there may be a specific procedure (which I have yet to find) for either reinstating articles or starting new ones for those that have been deleted, I posted a stub for Milam with two sources to back up the lead sentences. I intend to continue building an article based on a couple dozen sources I have found on the Internet. These range from newspaper accounts to scholarly articles to books. See my User page for a list of some of these (under Community radio references). Meanwhile, I would appreciate feedback from editors who are knowledgeable about community radio as well as from administrators who are familiar with the reinstatement process. Thanks. Johnny Appleseed?[edit]

Re: "Milam, who is credited with helping in the startup of at least 14 stations from the early 1960s through late 1970s, is often referred to as the 'Johnny Appleseed' of community radio."

This sentence presumably derives from a passage in David Armstrong's A Trumpet to Arms, page 78: "Milam's passion for community radio--and 1.1 million from the sale of a second station, KDNA-St.Louis, to commercial broadcasters in 1973--led him to become a veritable Johnny Appleseed of community radio." That's one writer referring to the guy as Appleseed in one book. Often implies many writers or speakers and says it happened many times, and this reference, used as a citation, explicitly or implicitly, does not support either that implication or that assertion. It seems to me probably best to quote the source directly, and I've changed the article accordingly. TheScotch (talk) 11:41, 12 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
