JD Souther[edit]

JD deserves more recognition as a musical influence. I recently saw a 1981 video with Souther singing with James Taylor on JTs “Her Town Too”. I was wondering who that scruffy red bearded guy was with the almost angelic voice singing with James. I half expected a Charlie Daniels croak to come out of him. It is even more strange when just yesterday I watched The Breaking of the Band doc with the Eagles, and l realized they may have put him in a cameo but didn’t mention his influence with Eagles at all. He was roommates first with Glenn Frey in South California. He put out an album with Glenn in 1970 before Don Henley too! And then JD was instrumental in writing the songs on the Eagles last two albums!
