Opening[edit]

We have a curiosity here. A recent edit suggests that the station opened in 1872. Butt has 1 October 1863 (ie with the line), whilst Mitchell & Smith say "the station first appeared in timetables in 1873".

Could it be that the platform was built in 1863, but the station buildings not until 1872/3? --Redrose64 (talk) 19:18, 7 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
