Notability[edit]

This is a meaningless list as the inclusion criteria are vague. I can't see any useful benefit from having this article on Wikipedia and the description does not add anything either. There are many categories that are better suited to grouping companies together, on balance I think this article should be deleted, but have just tagged it for now. --Sargdub (talk) 02:14, 15 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Meets guidelines[edit]

I find it to be a meaningful list that provides a useful navigation aid per WP:LISTPURP. Furthermore, it fully qualifies for an article per WP:NOTDUP relative to Category:Trading companies and subcategories therein. I've replaced the notability template with a ref improve template. Notability / Inclusion part 2[edit]

It does not appear that this list has been maintained since the AFD, but I'll post here in case someone is still watching.

  1. Inclusion criteria still seems a little vague, despite NA1000's excellent re-write of the lede. Are we really intending to include all brokerage/forex firms, such as Teletrade and IFC markets?
  2. While I respect Doncram's position on redlinks in the AFD, I would propose an adherence to removing redlinks here. I'm delighted to work with passers by if there is strong sourcing, but this is going attract promotional entries otherwise.
  3. There seems to be an attempt to break this out into sub-cats (by country, by commodity). Would anyone mind if we finished that one way or the other? Maybe completing the conversion to "by country" and just noting the primary commodities next to the entry? Kuru (talk) 11:53, 16 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
