Clarification[edit]

There are lots of discrepancies creating confusing on various articles (including this article) discussing the county-level administrative divisions of Beijing. As an example, Nankou in Changping District is listed on this page as being a Beijing "Area", which is correct, but the citation next to "Area" says that all of listing under it are subdistricts, whereas the page for Nankou (and those others listed under "Area" as subdistricts) lists it as a "town." It is simply that the articles for these entities have not been updated and this article has?

Secondly, I was under the impression that subdistricts & towns were subdivided into residential communities, and townships into (administrative) villages. But some of these pages show subdistricts divided into both communities and villages. Was my understanding of how subdistricts, towns and townships are divided incorrect?
