Name?[edit]
In response to a comment RoyalBroil made at T:DYK about this list (I'm copying into here a response I was about to make at DYK):
- Actually, ignoring for a moment the question of whether this gets DYK, you bring up another good point...should the list be renamed to express that it's a list of famous people who have been deported, not just a list of any people? I'm just asking because lists on WP often are able to include items that would not be notable in their own respect...so since this list only includes people who are notable (they already have their own articles), it's not a list of all people who have been deported (for good reason—it would be impossible, and pointless, to list every single person who has been deported), but rather a list of notable people who have been deported.

- What name suggestions do you have? Cirt (talk) 07:14, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- I think simply requiring that every entry on this list already having an existing Wikipedia entry is sufficient, that inherently implies enough notability for the Wikipedia article itself to exist. Cirt (talk) 07:16, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
- This has come up in the past for lists. I think it is presumes that "List of people" means List of notable people and that deported means notable deportations. -- Suntag ☼ 08:56, 19 November 2008 (UTC)
Obviously this section still applies even though it's 12 years later, since WP:LISTPEOPLE says people are typically only included in lists such as this they meet the Wikipedia notability requirement. FDW777 (talk) 15:39, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
