Proposed deletion[edit]

I am proposing deletion of this article because it fulfils a function already performed by an external website and organisation and is a badly formatted list. Similar pages relating to the NYSE and the LSE do not exist. Hugahoody (talk) 17:31, 13 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

While you are right about the LSE and NYSE, there is a fine tradition of including such lists for other exchanges, once properly named and linked (redlinks or otherwise) to the relevant pages -- inclusion on a stock exchange is a useful third-party measure of notability. My main concern with this list is that the fullname of the companies in question is not clear and has to be found separately online. (the list also doesn to seem to be complete - while there should be hundreds more companies on the Exchange, the unbroken numbering suggests this is a complete list of some subset of the exchange; how the subset was derived wasn't noted.) I am inclined to move this to the talkpage for the base article as a source for future research. –SJ+ 03:56, 15 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wouldn't it be easier to go to the stock exchange web site for a complete list of companies? [1] Wikipedia is not a directory WP:NOTDIRECTORY. Since the lists you mention are incomplete and out of date, I would nominate them for deletion as well. If there are portions that need to be kept for some reason, transfer them here Stock exchange where people can find them and develop the article from there. Shenzhen Stock Exchange/List of listed companies → List of companies listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange — per WP:SUBPAGE, it is not allowed to have subpages in mainspace. Requested rename[edit]

Since the consensus is to keep this articles, I suggest a consistent approach in naming all three similar articles: Companies listed on the Istanbul Stock Exchange, Companies listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, Companies listed on the Athens Stock Exchange
