First Commander of Sepah[edit]

@Pahlevun: Hi. Abbas Duzduzani wasn't the first commander. this (from this article) is a document that Javad Mansouri signed as commander of Sepah. Benyamin-ln (talk) 22:02, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The numbers are asserted by the source given. Mansouri was acting in the early formative phase and even in the letter you linked, it is acknowleged that there are IRGC branches that are not under their command. Aghazamani was the first commander with the real mandate because he was appointed by the commander-in-chief. Pahlevun (talk) 22:55, 8 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Ali Shamkhani[edit]

@Pahlevun: Hi. Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani in his memories from 1981, quoted speech of Second-in-command of IRGC Ali Shamkhani before Friday Prayer of Tehran at 11 December 1981. Benyamin-ln (talk) 09:58, 20 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. It's a primary source, any reliable secondary source citing it? Pahlevun (talk) 09:30, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I found a reaserch article (from here or here) that mentioned Shamkhani as Second-in-command of Mosen Rezaee from 1981 to the end of war. Benyamin-ln (talk) 20:15, 24 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Supervisors[edit]

@Pahlevun:Mansouri was appointed by Beheshti (Secretary of Council of the Revolution) as Commander on 22 April 1979 (2 Ordibehesht 1358) for six months but remained commanding until February 1980/Esfand 1358. Hassan Lahouti appointed by Khomeini as Supervisor on 16 September 1979 (25 Shahrivar 1358). before this time, Lahouti was the representative of the Supreme Leader.

Kian and Rafsanjani hadn't any official office in Sepah. a former senior officer of Sepah said:

Lahouti resigned on 20 November 1979 (29 Aban). Khamenei appointed by Council of the Islamic Revolution insist of Lahouti on 23 November (2 Azar). He resigned on 24 February 1980 (5 Esfand 1358). All of these are according to Ettela'at.

I object. You want putting reliable sources by reputable publishers aside and conclude from primary sources, solely from Fars News Agency-style content. An interview with "a former senior officer" in the IRGC, by the agency affiliated with the IRGC, about history of IRGC is not a good source. Pahlevun (talk) 12:06, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The news were from Ettela'at Newspaper, not from Fars News Agency. There is not any sources (I repeat, any sources) to we know who is Fereydoun Kian! You see decree of appointment of Mansouri on 22 April 1979 which signed by Beheshti. This picture puts RAND's claim unreliable. You see message of Khomeini on 16 September 1979. This message puts RAND's claim unreliable.
As my opinion, ignore of these facts may be amazing... Benyamin-ln (talk) 19:05, 16 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The immediate source is Fars News Agency and your argument is merely original research. History is written by the victors, maybe Fereydoun Kian was intentionally wiped out by the official historyiography? Pahlevun (talk) 00:53, 9 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Name and redundant section[edit]

  1. The section List of senior officers of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps#Other senior officers –which is remained from the old times– is now redundant because the current classification includes almost all the names in the section. I remove the section.
  2. The name of the article seems not coherent. "Senior officers" is an unclear term and does not specify the people included. I suggest a binding terms such as "Commander", we know who the commanders are.
