Just a note to explain what binomial authority really means. It is used to help give the sense in which the species name is used. More than one author is possible. In general the first author is given credit but sometimes a species may be split and then the author for the split is credited but the old author may also be used by enclosing in brackets. Occam's razor. The simpler and stupider explanation tends to be true. Evans gives author for genus author and for only those subspecies found in India, many times not the nominal subspecies. So I cheated. Took the author;s name from commonest subspecies in India. OK! I'm sorry already :(.
So go ahead Lepindex is our authority. Make the changes.AshLin 15:00, 20 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]
