Sales make it 4th equal, with 'Thriller', by Michael Jackson. 'Gold' should be a place above 'The Best Of ABBA', not a place behind it. Also - 'ABBA',(1975), sold 700,000 in Australia, so that should be in your List. Shouldn't albums with the same sales have the same ranking? I'd say obviously, but don't know why they're not. This is list of the best selling albums in Australia that sold at least 700,000 copies, based on Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) certifications and sales. There are five Australian artists in the list: John Farnham (being the highest album seller and 17th highest seller), Delta Goodrem (6th highest seller), Crowded House (10th highest seller), Savage Garden (12nd highest seller)

This is incorrect[edit]

All of these certifications happened recently at the 35/70 figures. Current certifications use the current figures so since all the certs here are based on ARIA cert levels they should use the correct (35/70) figures, not the 25/50 levels (which were not even official certifications). Also, the rankings are incorrect, if 5 albums tie for tenth then the next lowest certified album has a rank of 15th, not 11th.


Did 'Arrival' by ABBA, sell a Million, in Australia?[edit]

ARIA says it did - below is a very recent quote from the ARIA Facebook Page

 It is clearly referring to, 'The Best of ABBA', 'Arrival', & 'Gold'.

ABBA Gold - wrong sources for platinum x16 claim[edit]

The apparent claim of ABBA Gold having been certified platinum x16 is not backed up by the stated source. The quoted source relates to a 1999 article when it passed platinum x13. It has sold enough for platinum x16 ; this was shown when it re-entered the ARIA chart in may 2013 for a week. ABBA GOLD - NOW 17 x PLATINUM = 1,190,000[edit]

  ABBA Gold has now been given a 17th ARIA Sales Award in Australia. For Sales of 1,190,000. It joins 'Brothers In Arms' by Dire Straits, (1985), as

Neil Diamond's Hot August Night album should be on the list[edit]
