Expanding corresponding section at Elon Musk[edit]

Flyedit32, I am not opposed to creating a section at Elon Musk. But it may more be helpful to expand this page - it would make it easier to then summarize his recognition in true summary style. Your addition gave undue weight to specific achievements rather than a broad overview. ~ HAL333 18:54, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

HAL333 It was not my addition, I just improved and slightly expanded on what Thereisnous had already added in the article. I don't really have an opinion on this one, other than his awards and honors should indeed be mentioned somewhere, whether its in his bio article or here. I do, however, think it's not very consistent that although we link away to main articles in every other section of his bio article, there is still a short summary in literally all of those sections, whereas on this particular topic of recognition, there's no summary, only a redirection to the main article. So I do think it'd be good to try and construct a terse yet broad and balanced overview of his past recognition (okay I guess I do have an opinion on the matter). The current state is the result of what I though of as a compromise; imo it worked better as a "See also" link. Now that I think of it, it may not even be needed now that we have the Elon Musk template. ~ HAL333 21:35, 19 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Lack of cohesion and biasedness[edit]

The article is about awards and honors received by Elon Musk, but it starts with the following: "Business magnate and industrial designer Elon Musk is recognized for his efforts to combat global warming. According to Bill Gates, "what Elon did with Tesla is one of the greatest contributions to climate change anyone's ever made". Al Gore called himself "a big fan of Tesla and of Elon Musk"". The topic is about his awards and honors, not his commending by individuals, the article lacks some sense of direction. And by mentioning a controversial political figure like Al Gore it does not help with that. I think the article is informative and the list is absolutely useful, but the part that was subjected to editors' discretion, specially the style of writting and the above mentioned points are not so good for the maintenance of the article's quality. Considerig also that the article is short, that charachteristics make this process more impactful. The majority of his awards and honors were not related to climate change. The fact that it starts with that informations, and gives too much credit to "environmentalist awards" is conflicting with the stance of neutral writing and unbiasedness in Wikipedia. It shows more about the editor's preferences.Sawyersx (talk) 21:55, 9 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
