Not a substitute for specific references and sources[edit]

I sometimes see users adding a link to this page in a "Further reading" section in unsourced articles. I'd just like to note: linking to this page or Bibliography of the history of the Early Slavs and Rus' or Bibliography of Russian history (1223–1613) is not a substitute for specific references and sources to support specific claims in specific articles. In other words, this does not avoid the editor's WP:BURDEN. It's also not to be casually thrown around as something the reading might be interested in if they run into a random article like Sviatoslav III of Vladimir or Yuri II of Vladimir. (So @TimothyBlue and anyone else who might be doing this, I know it's well meant, but please don't. Thank you.) Cheers, Nederlandse Leeuw (talk) 13:41, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
