Ordering[edit]

How is this being ordered? By appearance, importance, alphabetically...? Right now it seems more or less random. --maru (talk) contribs 01:08, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I believe we should order it by apperance it would be the most professional way of handling something like this. --Link25 02:20, 25 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Page Move[edit]

  • I completely disagree with the page move as it would undermine a useful support structure and organization for the megatokyo article. Also the old one giant character page was afully long. And if the old page still exists it should be deleted as it is redundent. Vcelloho 01:46, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, moving the article is usless since the two pages have basically the same information. The only exception is that the Main Chracter version is more up to date and with better photos. Deleteing the old page would seem better then moving it. --Link25 22:23, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Tohya Miho, mundane?[edit]

I was under the impression that since her most recent appearance (page 819) the non-supernatural theories have greatly declined. Considering that Ed doesn't ph34r even the gynoid that destroyed his face (plus the fact that the beeper didn't go off right away)... 66.69.147.209 09:34, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

While Ed's reaction is certainly curious, and demands careful consideration, I hardly think that it is strong evidence of Miho's supernaturality.

But that doesn't matter, enough people still believe that she is "mundane" for mentioning it in the article to be justified. Hargle 13:20, 25 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sections about Miho, Ed and Yuki have been modified including brief accounts of the latest events and their implications for the debate around Tohya's nature. --81.208.60.199 16:50, 24 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Characters: Erika[edit]

It says in Erika's article that Hitoshi left her claiming "he was holding her back". But didn't a recent strip reveal that it was really over a pregnancy scare? BethEnd 16:41, 23 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Dom and Ed in OO[edit]

The characters of Dom and Ed, the same ones in MT, also appear in Okashina Okashi. This is an important thing to mention and similar to how you'd mention the character of one novel appearing in another. Deleting it does not seem to be based on any Wiki standards and runs contrary to having the article be as informative as possible. I don't know exactly why the editor in question seems intent on diminishing the quality of the article, but I ask that he stop immediately and begin adhering to good Wiki guidelines. Seiya 05:22, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Please stop deleting referances to Dom and Ed in OO. These are not small cameos, nor are they done without permission. Dom and Ed conscented to the reproduction of these characters in full in another comic. As far as I know, this is the only other comic to feature them on the 'net. That makes this a significant fact, ne?

Japanese for Miho Tohya (Tohya Miho)?[edit]

I am wondering why there isn't japanese equivalent of Miho's name in the article? Shouldn't we have it there? Ampersand2006 ( & ) 16:57, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Fred has never revealed what her name kanji is. It drives forum-goers nuts. ^_^ --Masamage 17:17, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

"Big Mode" Seraphim?[edit]

In Megatokyo's latest comic 899 it is revealed that Seraphim has the ability to "transform" into her "Big Mode", but it is expensive to her and the company. Should this be noted? Ampersand2006 ( & ) 19:07, 28 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, one sentence can't hurt. --Masamage 16:28, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Miho's Medical Condition[edit]

I've changed the Description of Miho's Medical Trouble in Chapter two - The Past Edit said she "Passed out" - To the Presumably more accurate "Caused her to Go into shock"

My reasons for this are Such -

1) According to what ping says in comic 0238(20/03/2002), She Presents the symptoms of the mid stages of shock - Weak, thready Pulse, Clammy skin and shallow, irregular breathing. She also Appears to clutch her Chest - a possible Indication of a heart condition - Which is one of the most common causes of Shock.

2)Though She is taken to the School Infirmary, In her next appearance in the comic She is seen in the hospital - If she had simply Passed out, It is unlikely that she would be Taken to hospital.

3)If she were to pass out, Unless she had done herself a severe injury - for example, a severe skull fracture - on the tiled floor, it would be very unlikely for her to present the symptoms she did.

Edit - Forgot to sign my above comment when posted, so here I do Churba 18:21, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ed- "The Real thing"[edit]

In Ed's section, it says that he calls Miho "The Real Thing" in http://www.megatokyo.com/index.php?strip_id=819 . But isn't he referring to fear, or more accuratley, PH33R? --Alcnolien 02:09, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It definitely looks like that the second time he says it, but the first time, he says " You... You're... The real thing." --Masamage 02:15, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, yeah, I see it. Missed it the first time :D--Alcnolien 18:57, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Shiritsu Daitou High School[edit]

Early on in the comic, Largo somehow manages to get employed as an English teacher at Shiritsu Daitou High School, where Ping, Sonoda Yuki, and Tohya Miho attend,

I think this is a little false, since Sonoda Yuki goes to another school, isn't it?JZX100 23:55, 21 March 2007 (UTC)

Yuki goes to the middle school. --Masamage 02:20, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Seraphim's sisters[edit]

An anon just edited out the existence of Seraphim's second sister, the cheerful one. --Masamage 17:49, 1 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Miho's death[edit]

I really think that her death is FAR from confirmed, all we know is that something sad is going on, maybe i missed something but, there is nothing solid confirming the death, i`ll change the sentence to apparently. Zidane tribal (talk) 00:25, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, a big explosion and someone feeling sad is hardly conclusive. After all, it's terribly common in anime and manga for a beloved character to survive the unsurvivable. --Gwern (contribs) 23:49 2 August 2008 (GMT)
Honestly, I don't understand how 1123 to 1125 could be read so vaguely to reach the conclusions presented above. If comic books and manga have taught us anything, it is that death does not NECESSARILY signify the end of a character. That said, there were several things that made the message clear: The timing of the event (the end of a very tumultuous chapter), the fact that this particular event was stretched out over three strips, the completely unsubtle actions of all the characters who had a direct connection to the event (Miho, Ed, Yuki's mother), even the fact that all these strips were making clear and distinct references to parts of Miho's character that were previously hinted at. She is a popular character. But even popular characters die. There may have been no absolute confirmation, but Fred never likes to be direct through dialog (Case in point: Never once has Piro/Kimiko discussed directly their feelings about the other outside of metaphor), so we may not see it. It is a safe assumption that Miho was killed in 1124. I'm dropping the "apparently." Not saying she won't come back, but she's dead. Brokenwit (talk) 11:52, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, let`s keep her dead for the sake of the article until further info. But i still don`t buy it. Zidane tribal (talk) 15:26, 8 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

After the page in which Miho dies, Yuki's mom (supposedly another "magical girl") says "Something very sad has just happened." that seems to confirm Miho's death. Regardless, any speculation that she is still alive is just that—speculation&mdashand does not belong in an encyclopaedia. Until something tangible in the comic says otherwise, we should not say "apparently." --Politizer (talk) 22:19, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fact: She is more LIKELY dead, without a corpse either live or dead is speculative so there`s no reason why we shoult`n say aparently, I don`t want to make a edit war out of this but i`ll change it. Zidane tribal (talk) 20:06, 28 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re this edit: I don't know why you're bringing this up again when you already said that you were ok with letting the article say she's dead until further information comes up. Anyway, there was an explosion, another character referring to her as a "dead girl," and another "magical girl" lamenting her death; maybe Gallagher intends to bring her back at some point, but any argument in favor of that interpretation requires a lot more speculation and synthesis than just accepting the fact that, according to the best information we have available, she is dead. You can reason all you want about why she isn't, but you can do that at the Megatokyo forum or a blog; this is not the place to speculate about the future of the comic strip. If you dig up a reliable source (read: not a forum thread) saying that there is significant doubt in the real world over whether or not she has died, then we might be able to work that in; but if you keep adding your own personal interpretation, it will just be removed. —Politizer talk/contribs 03:24, 2 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Miho[edit]

I imagine today's comic will cause another wave of speculation about whether or not Miho is really dead. I'd just like to remind anyone watching this page that speculation is still speculation and any unfounded or ORish additions should probably be reverted, and the current wording about Miho's being apparently killed shouldn't be changed yet. Politizer talk/contribs 04:23, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sonoda[edit]

What does Sonoda mean in Japanese? Alex (talk) 23:08, 19 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Überclocked[edit]

This article contains a mention of the comic Überclocked however while I am able to find other references to it I cannot find it itself. What happened to it? If it is gone now perhaps that should be mentioned.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.203.8.98 (talk) 05:06, 7 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Lists of minor anything are not appropriate on Wikipedia. As such, List of minor characters in Megatokyo should be merged here. Neelix (talk) 19:07, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support There isn't any need for two separate articles... they could easily be merged and this would allow readers to quickly move back and forth between characters. David Bailey (talk) 22:33, 8 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Matsui's full name[edit]

The article currently has "Watanabe Matsui", unsourced. As far as I know (and I have read all the online strips and books) this name has never appeared in the comic. The "Readers' Guide" in the supplementary materials to book 5 gives his full name as "Matsui Takeshi". I hope there are no objections if I amend this? 2.28.189.135 (talk) 20:31, 24 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Kimiko mentions the name Watanabe in strip 911. Not sure who it refers to, but it appears to be Matsui.
