Timeline help[edit]

I have made a timeline for the members, but the text for each bar is not showing up! I have done everything right to the best of my knowledge... help! Please suggest fixes. Andre666 (talk) 21:06, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, can't help you but: Nice work! ;-) --Say Headcheese!-hexaChord2 22:23, 7 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It's a good idea but until you get the text showing up, I'd say don't upload it on the live page. Also, I reverted back to the old list to keep the page more consistent with how almost every other band's lineup looks like on Wikipedia. Sbamkmfdmdfmk (talk) 04:35, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't do this again, see featured lists such as List of Dream Theater band members and List of Slipknot band members for examples of how this is favoured. Clearly looks better. Also the timeline should remain, it just needs that one fix. Andre666 (talk) 07:12, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Robin Finck and Bryan Mantia Status[edit]

For CONSISTENCY sake let's refrain from editing Robin Finck and Bryan Mantia out of the current line-up until we have something official from the band/axl/mgmt. I agree they very likely have left- but as long as that's the policy on the main "Guns N' Roses" page- I think that should be the policy here (reduces confusion). Thanks. 76.124.71.175 (talk) 09:23, 9 December 2008 (UTC)Smythtown94[reply]

On the official MySpace page they do not appear – official enough, or not? Andre666 (talk) 17:54, 9 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Andre666- Axl was involved in several on-line chats this weekend (12/11 - 12/13) with fans where he said that they are hoping to make contractual arrangements for both Robin Finck and Brain to join the band on tour in 2009. I think the Myspace thing may be related to Robin's and Brain's most recent contracts having expired and NOT yet renewed. Doesn't mean it won't happen though I suppose. I think we should just hang tight for now. The touring line-up should be announced sometime in the early part of 2009 IMHO.76.124.71.175 (talk) 04:23, 14 December 2008 (UTC)Smythtown94[reply]

Brain[edit]

Didn't Brain drum on about half of the songs on Chinese Democracy? I think that is enoghf to consider him a member or atleast a former member, however, he is not mentioned on here. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.198.113.60 (talk) 00:26, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Doesn't the article state
Bryan Mantia
Active: 2000–2006
Instruments: drums, percussion
Release contributions: Chinese Democracy (2008)?
That should be that what you are looking for and it's there if you take a close look.--Avant-garde a clue-hexaChord2 06:23, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I've been doing some work. A few things I would like you guys to pay attenion to.[edit]

Alright, first of all, I credited "Chinese Democracy" to half of the lineups and stated that thing on the bottom, and updated the timeline so it has DJ Ashba. When I was editing the timeline, I realised something, until I edited the timeline, it went until about May of 2008. Okay, that's outdated. I suggest that we update the page daily to avoid this (which I will gladly do when I can, but I can't always do so.) So why not ALL try and update this page as often as possible? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.198.113.60 (talk) 15:54, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no need to update the timeline daily, only monthly or even just when big changes (new members, releases, etc.) take place. Probably monthly is best, though, as changes may not take place for a while. Andre666 (talk) 19:11, 23 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge template[edit]

About recent addition of touring member "Haggis"[edit]

During May-June 1988 GN'R were on tour as opening act for Iron Maiden. On May 28th, Duff got married to Mandy Brixx, and the band replaces him for 3 shows with former The Cult bassist Kid Chaos a.k.a. "Haggis". Guns and Roses best song[edit]

G'N'RS best song has got to be civil war — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.184.185.107 (talk) 14:34, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the trolling. Andre666 (talk) 14:51, 5 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Original Lineup Contradiction[edit]

The 2nd paragraph of the intro states "Guns N' Roses was formed in Los Angeles, California in March 1985 by Axl Rose, guitarists Izzy Stradlin and Slash, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler."

The band line-up list section has: "Original lineup (March–May 1985) Tracii Guns – lead guitar Ole Beich – bass Rob Gardner – drums W. Axl Rose – lead vocals Izzy Stradlin – rhythm guitar"

Change needed in the introduction? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.147.123.175 (talk) 19:15, 10 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hall of Fame lineup[edit]

The lineup that officially performed as Guns N' Roses on April 14, 2012 a the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame should be included as an official lineup.

They were officially billed as Guns N' Roses (see here: http://www.hbo.com/the-rock-and-roll-hall-of-fame-2012-induction-ceremony/index.html and here: https://twitter.com/rock_hall/status/191375665805791233)

Lineup: Myles Kennedy (vocals), Slash (lead guitar), Gilby Clarke (rhythm guitar), Duff McKagan (bass), Steven Adler and Matt Sorum (drums). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.106.74.68 (talk) 01:15, 13 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Dave Navarro[edit]

Wasn't Dave a band member in 1999 (for a few month) he also played guitar on "oh my god" ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.139.73.117 (talk) 14:30, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Ron "Bumblefoot"Thal[edit]

Could someone add him to "former members"? Thanks Wasp-1992 (talk) 20:23, 31 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

This Coachella / Reunion stuff[edit]

Ok, there is way too much going on and people don't know what they're doing. Axl, Slash, and Duff are back in. But there is no reason for anyone to believe that Frank Ferrer, Dizzy Reed, Chris Pitman, and Richard Fortus are out. So let's stop removing them please. — DLManiac (talk) 20:59, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tommy Stinson[edit]

Tommy Stinson is still in the Band !!! There is no word about that he's leaving !

Duff has rejoined for the reunion, so Tommy Stinson will likely not be involved. If there is a source to say that he is still in the band, then he can be re-added. Andre666 (talk) 11:26, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

New group foto[edit]

There should be a photo of the current line-up. Can someone do that? Thanks.http://tony-trujillo.com/img/s11/v31/p1889206014.jpgWasp-1992 (talk) 21:08, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Izzy Stradlin[edit]

Izzy is credited as "rhythm and lead guitar" on albums. But of I add it here its changed back. For some reason Brandon mr Anxiety (talk) 21:58, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Brandon mr Anxiety: Which albums are you referring to ? Why are you adding your reference to a sentence about Axl ? Where does it say that Izzy does not play both lead & rhythm ? - FlightTime Public (open channel) 22:06, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm referring to Appetite For Destruction and both Use Your Illusion albums — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brandon mr Anxiety (talkcontribs) 22:17, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Brandon mr Anxiety: it's already noted here, here, here and here. I think that's sufficient. - FlightTime Public (open channel) 22:31, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@FlightTime Public: I added it to the timeline is that ok
@Brandon mr Anxiety: I'll leave that to other editors who watch this page, in the meantime, you should review Wikipedia:Edit warring and Help:Talk_pages#Replying_to_an_existing_thread. - FlightTime Public (open channel) 22:40, 16 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
