Israel: 871 (WRONG!)

I'm an anti-Zionist, and I'm on Twitter, so I know exactly where this "information" came from. Thing is, the official GS1 references DO NOT support it. Editors should note that GS1 country codes indicate the country in which a company is registered, NOT where a specific product is manufactured. Please bear this in mind before adding/reverting further. HuntClubJoe (talk) 23:31, 4 August 2014 (UTC)

Correct indeed, I didn't notice that my revert was canceled back... thank you. --Pino (talk) 01:14, 5 August 2014 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what you are. Here is why people are confused about the numbers: The numbers given tell us where the company printing the bar code is registered. It does not tell us where the produce is from or goes to. Products from Israel have been bought and sold by Dutch (Holland) companies. They say on the label "Produce of Israel". The number on the barcode does not tell you this. It only tells you where the company pays tax, and if it says 871 it was taxed in Holland, even if the goods came from Israel, so you will just have to check for number 729 AND you will have to check where the produce came from, or you will find that nearly every code on this list sells one thing or another from Israel, for instance, potatoes, dates, Israeli ones get sold by Tescos. Tescos bar codes are 500, 501, 502, 403, 504, 505, 506, 507, 508, 509. If you block all of those numbers and live in the UK you might starve. ~ R.T.G 08:46, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
Everything you wrote is unrelated to the article, and specifically, to my comment above. Please take the time to click the link given on the article main page before opining further. It seems like you're trying to fudge the issue in favour of a non-NPOV.HuntClubJoe (talk) 09:19, 5 August 2014 (UTC)
This type of article about something like an official list which doesn't change over the years should be automatically locked from editing or at least part of it should. ~ R.T.G 12:08, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
The graph itself could be locked and then used as a template on the page with writing on it so as not to interfere with the editing. ~ R.T.G 12:13, 11 August 2014 (UTC)
