The result of the move request was: page moved. I note this reverses a recent undiscussed move 05:23, 23 August 2016‎ (Dash9Z moved page List of DC Extended Universe cast members to List of DC Extended Universe film actors over redirect: In line with the naming convention of List of Marvel Cinematic Universe film actors) Andrewa (talk) 04:19, 8 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

List of DC Extended Universe film actorsList of DC Extended Universe cast members – "Film actors" seems clunky. WP:CONSISTENT with most other articles in Category:Lists of actors by film series. Too detailed?[edit]

This table is a lot more cluttered than it needs to be. Is it really helpful in a list of cast members to say when their character is indirectly or directly referenced in a movie they don't appear in? It would be much simpler (and more useful) if the table only covered appearances of cast members. Also, should this table be covering films that don't even have a release date? I get that no film is set in stone - even ones that seem like they're going ahead as planned (Aquaman). But there are others that are further off, without a specified release date, and in a state of flux (Batman, Batgirl, etc). I'm not suggesting we don't cover future films, but perhaps we should limit them to ones with a confirmed release date. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 00:47, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I went ahead and made a bold edit, so if people have some problems with it, I'm happy to discuss here. I also removed the characters that weren't cast, like Zeus (who apparently will appear but the actor is unknown), Jason Todd and Darkseid (who haven't ever appeared), Parademons (CG creatures), and the Green Lantern Corps (which isn't a character). --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 23:56, 4 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I just made another bold edit. A lot of my previous edit has been undone without discussion, so I'm bringing this here again. If there are any issues, I'm happy to discuss them. I've listed below details of my latest edit with reasoning:
The table became overly cluttered and difficult to read, partly because of the large number of future films listed here that have no release date. I removed these (including Cyborg, due to the discussion here), and along with them a number of unsourced future appearances (including Jonathan Kent's in Justice League). I again removed Parademons and Zeus from this table, since it's a list of cast members and neither of those entries have corresponding actors. I removed Zack Snyder's cameo, since it doesn't have a corresponding character, and I removed the italicisation from "Wonder Woman sequel" since that's not the official title. I believe all these practices are standard at List of Marvel Cinematic Universe film actors and I understand that this is a different article, so the same rules don't necessarily apply. But they do work for creating a cleaner and more easily understandable table. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 02:45, 31 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so there's a lot of unsourced information in this article. Like, saying David Thewlis appeared as Ares in Justice League, the actor for Zeus, and plenty of minor characters like Ro-Zar. This needs to be cut back. It's clutter and it's not encyclopedic. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 11:32, 28 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Recurring cast[edit]

I understand there's been a bit of an edit war going on here in regards to the list of names of actors said to recur across multiple films, so I'm gonna weigh in to hopefully help out. Since Jared Leto doesn't have a confirmed future appearance, he should not be listed. Wikipedia isn't a place for unconfirmed information. And since Michael Shannon was not in BvS, he should not be listed. --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 12:59, 23 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I've again removed Leto and Shannon from the list for the above reasons. And it seems the edit war for listing even more actors has continued, and none of the editors involved are willing to discuss. This does not help to achieve consensus and "users who engage in edit wars risk being blocked or even banned". @Onkiri @Danny7177 --ProfessorKilroy (talk) 14:00, 5 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Waller canon status[edit]

James Gunn has stated that Waller is NOT DCEU canon. It is canon to the new DCU. So the section on Waller should be removed. Jstewart2007 (talk) 15:48, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Jstewart2007: Do you have the source where he said this? —El Millo (talk) 15:52, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This says We're using the same actors; this is a continuation of Peacemaker, which is the opposite of "not canon to the DCEU". Be careful about wording because this discussion could be derailed to what's canon and what's not. Either way, if it's not DCEU and it is DCU, it should probably not be included in this table, though we could have a tag or something for DCEU characters that return in the DCEU. —El Millo (talk) 16:15, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

good idea. Jstewart2007 (talk) 16:18, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Still, let's wait for others to participate in the discussion. —El Millo (talk) 16:22, 25 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
