Billy Joel Band: Carl Fischer Trumpet AND Sax[edit]

Someone needs to create a page for Carl Fischer - as well as more mention here. He is unique in the music world because he is equally talented on brass AND woodwind instruments. It's not unusual to see a brass player move from trumpet/fleugelhorn to low brass - but it's very rare to see someone who can on-the-fly set down a trumpet and pick up a saxophone -especially at the level of performance Billy Joel's Band requires. The two families of instrument require completely different embouchures - the muscles of the mouth/lips - and most folks would physically not be able to make the transition as fast onstage as Fischer does. It's an impressive trick of the trade.

Billy Joel Band: When/Why Iconic "Original" Members Left[edit]

Mention is made of these transitions - but I'd also like to see more discussion about when and why Liberty DeVitto (Drums) Richie Cannata (Sax) and some of the other original members left the band. The backstory behind these shake-ups often tells a lot about the music scene at the time and is worth documenting for an act as important as Billy Joel.

Andy Cichon no longer in the band?[edit]

Thought I'd create a talk section for this. Unless I'm just not seeing him, at both the Fenway Park show and another one from August 14th, both from August of this year, Andy doesn't seem to be there. Instead it's Mike Deljudice playing bass guitar. This could be a permanent change. Check out the videos on YouTube and see what I mean. Psx1337 (talk) 14:49, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
