Ray Harding indictment[edit]

I'm surprised to find that we don't have a separate bio article about Ray Harding. If one is ever created, it should obviously include news of his indictment and any aftermath thereof. In the meantime, it's unclear whether it belongs in this article, too. The story in today's Times -- at http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/16/nyregion/16indict.html?_r=1&emc=eta1 -- doesn't make clear to me whether the charges against Harding concern misuse of his Liberal Party role or are more individual to him. I added a link to a Jewish weekly Forward article, "Harding Indictment a Symbol of Liberal Party's Downfall", mainly for its historical synopsis, but it also serves as a link to the Harding affair. —— Shakescene (talk) 05:36, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Harding has now pleaded guilty. I've added information about the case, with a link to the New York Times article reporting his guilty plea. JamesMLane t c 23:23, 7 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Is the Liberal Party of New York active?[edit]

The party failed to obtain 50,000 votes for governor in 2002, and never obtained the petitions for a ballot position in 2006, or 2010. As far as I have been able to determine it doesn't register any more on the political radar. There is no contact phone number or physical address on its web site http://liberalparty.org Although this New York Times article refers to it existing on paper http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/20/nyregion/20harding.html?_r=1 there is no external evidence of its current existence in 2011, and as of March 2011, its web site has not been updated to refer to the results of the 2010 election where it failed to obtain 15,000 signatures in a state of 19 million. patsw (talk) 01:40, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"Left-wing"?[edit]

Don't fool yourselves with this. Even according to this wiki, social liberalism is almost certainly centrist, at most center-left. This is ridiculous, it should be changed to "center to center-left." Jerrytheman9 (talk) 18:30, 29 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
