Professional League of Legends competitionLeague of Legends as an eSportSimplicity. The term "professional competition" is very descriptive but also rather excessively precise, since the term "esport" sums it up in fewer words. You would not describe Football as a professional competitive play instead of simply a sport. You could also call this article simply "League of Legends as a sport" but that would omit too much detail.
Furthermore, the new title would make the article easier to find, especially if you simply write "League of Legends" in the search box.
Capitalization and exact spelling of esport is an open question. Gaioa (T C L) 10:14, 11 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That's a good idea @Zxcvbnm:. I notice now that there are many other similar articles that could benefit from a renaming like this, and I'd be happy to submit them all together. I'll do a multi-page move propose. Gaioa (T C L) 14:42, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Simplicity. The term "professional competition" is very descriptive but also rather excessively precise, since the term "esport" sums it up in fewer words. You would not describe Football as a "professional competitive play" instead of simply a sport. You could also label them simply "X in sports" but that would omit too much detail.
Furthermore, the new titles would make the articles easier to find, especially if you simply write the name in the search box.
Capitalization and exact spelling of eSports is an open question. [UPDATE: After the closing of this RFC I have changed the capitalization accordingly. 06:35, 16 October 2018 (UTC)] Gaioa (T C L) 14:52, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - The "professional" at the start isn't really best practices for people using the search function. Generally you put the subject of the article first.ZXCVBNM (TALK) 15:35, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment I recommend holding off on these moves until the RFC here closes, as it will affect the spelling of "esports". -- ferret (talk) 15:53, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Ah, thanks for pointing that out @Ferret:. I second that. Gaioa (T C L) 16:28, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
    • Objection If you want to argue simplicity, why not just "X competitions" — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ethanpet113 (talkcontribs) 12:41, 13 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
      • It's pretty much settled, just needs the close to be finished. -- ferret (talk) 16:29, 12 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
